The Samsung Series 5 Chromebook is the state of the art in mobile computing, for a surprisingly low price of $429.

Review:

The Samsung Series 5 is the pinnacle of today’s cloud computing technology. It is surprisingly inexpensive, especially compared to tablets like the iPad 2 (which lack a real keyboard). The Series 5 could not be easier to use, and is the ideal computer for accessing the internet on the go, or for someone who just wants a simple, no-stress computing experience without worrying about viruses or frequent system prompts like in Windows. Google’s Chromebooks are the most revolutionary laptops to hit the tech market in many years. They fulfill many of the needs of a tablet, such as high mobility, long-lasting battery life, and so on, but are much more practical and easy to use.

For one thing, while Chromebooks have about the same size and thickness as Windows tablets and iPads, they still have real, tactile keyboards, not “virtual keyboards” that obscure more than half of the work area while you’re typing.

The Samsung Series 5 is the more expensive series of Chromebook compared to the Acer Cromia. But is the slightly higher price up-front worth it in the long run? Read more…
